Introduction

Silkway Studio ("we", "our", "us") operates the Converge application for iPhone and iPad. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Converge is designed so that your mind maps and personal data stay under your control.

Information We Collect

Data you provide

• Mind maps and content — The nodes, text, and structure you create inside Converge are stored locally on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your private iCloud container. We do not have access to this data.
• Files you import — When you use the AI Import feature, the file you select (PDF or text) is sent to our cloud processing service for analysis. The file content is used solely to generate a structured mind map and is not stored after processing is complete.

Data collected automatically

• Analytics — With your consent, we use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics such as feature usage counts, session duration, and crash reports. Firebase may collect device identifiers and IP addresses to provide analytics services. This data is used solely to improve the App and is not linked to your identity. You can manage your analytics consent at any time in the App's settings. If you decline, no analytics data is collected. Firebase's data handling is governed by Firebase's Privacy Policy.
• Crash reporting — With your consent, Firebase Crashlytics collects crash logs and diagnostic data to help us identify and fix issues. These reports may include device model, OS version, and app state at the time of a crash. Crash reporting follows the same consent choice as analytics.
• No ad tracking — We do not use advertising trackers, fingerprinting, or cross-app tracking.

AI Import and Cloud Processing

The AI Import feature sends your selected file to Google Cloud (Gemini) for processing. During this process:

• File content is transmitted over an encrypted (TLS) connection.
• The content is processed to extract structure and generate a mind map.
• A device identifier is sent alongside each request for rate limiting and abuse prevention purposes. This identifier is not linked to your personal identity and is not used for tracking or advertising.
• File content is not retained by Silkway Studio or stored on our servers after the response is delivered.
• Google's data processing is governed by Google Cloud's Data Processing Addendum.

Data Storage and iCloud

Your mind maps are stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, data syncs through your private iCloud container managed by Apple. We do not operate our own servers for storing your content.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only external data transfer occurs during AI Import, as described above.

Data Retention

Since your data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account, you have full control over its retention. Deleting the app or your maps removes the data. AI Import file content is not retained after processing.

Children's Privacy

Converge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Since we do not store your personal data on our servers, most of these rights are exercised directly through your device or iCloud settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Converge after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
